    "anybody want a peanut?"

  • most definitely.

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

    "To the pain!"

"Er, i'm not quite up on that one."

And the always classic "Wuv. Twue wuv".

Definitely on my DVD shelf. Picked up the Princess Bride Buttercup Edition a few years back:

What's not to love, it mocks and plays to the fantasy genre in a way that later Mel Brooks films can only dream (Blazing Saddles, The Producers, & Young Frankenstein excepted).

"Go away or i'm calling the Brute Squad"

    "I'm on the Brute Squad"

    "On it? You ARE it"

This movie has quotes for days.

"Have fun storming the castle!" gets used a lot.

For a long time my wife used to tell me "Good night I'll most likely kill you in the morning" before bed.

In high school a popular insult was "Please bitch, you look like you just got dragged out of the fire swamp."

    Great movie.

Not to mention the movie being narrated by Colombo!

My favorite line (paraphrasing): "I don't think that word means what you think it does."

yeah, but Fred Savage gets the gas face.

Yeah, that's one of my favorites too.

Also, the "to the pain" speech is one of the most gangster things I've heard in a movie. It's made even more gangster by the fact that dude is stuck in the bed and can't move.

I've only seen it twice, and can not quote the movie verbatim.

Glad I saw it in the theater when it came out.

After watching the interviews on the dvd I wish I had known Andre.

One of my most fave films!!! 1st saw it to kill time at my pa's office when i was about 5.......grew to love it even more. The book is the best...one of my all time fave's!!!

i worked at a video store for 5 years,...used to put vids on in the background all the time, one day i put on Princess Bride. It was a busy day. The only time I stopped was when Wallace Shawn was on....."INCONCEIVABLE". The video cover was sitting on the counter and all of a sudden i hear a very familiar voice agree to give on a credit card to join up......i look over and up and it is the one and only WALLACE SHAWN......the pic above!!!!
Still today the best person i]ve ever seen!!!

    AWESOME!~

    Vizzini: HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

That's what my old roommate used to say every time I left the house for a DJ gig.

EVERY woman I've dated has forced me to watch this with them at one time or another. I like it, but I might have reached my saturation pt. Might.
    Great movie.

    Best sword-fighting dialog ever.

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die

    b/w

You're using Bonetti's defense against me, eh?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Naturally, you must expect me to attack with Capo Ferro.

Naturally- but I find Thibault cancels out Capo Ferro, don't you?

Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa- which I have.

  • It's really amazing how sticky the dialogue from this film is - most memorized lines by a mass audience...evah?

arguably my favorite movie. still watch it every time it comes on TV. I own the DVD and beat juggle doubles of the sdtk. every night before bedtime.

???In the meantime, rest well and dream of large women.???

Godfather's lines are so repeated people don't realize that's where they came from.

    Ooooh...Godfather vs. Princess Bride line-off.

    That's tough, so many classics.

No, not in general. Just in the Princess Bride. He gets on my nerves.

His work in Vice Versa? Classique!
