i like how the ducks have been playing but the sharks have too much performance pressure to let that one go columbu redwings should have some great highlights but we know what will ultimately happen i predict the wings vs sharks and pitt vs boston in conference finals
the west is defintely more interesting this year
but the NHL has been so unpredictable these past years you can barely call anything an upset anymore
Things can happen! That's why they play the games!
Price stands on his head. Thomas loses his. Markov comes back. Andrei "Big Tits" Kostitsyn scores some goals. Kovalev shows up. Larque beats the whole team up. Metropolit keeps griiiiindiiiin'. Someone injures Bergeron/Savard/Kessel. Chara dies from overgrown/deformed heart or something. ETC
won my hockey pool yesterday thanks to the bruins NOT shutting out the isles.
weren't the panthers stupid for not letting go of boumeester for something, rather than trying to make the playoffs and now have nothing to show for it?
i'm interested in how Ovechkin reacts against Avery. that will be really interesting, also im sure he's hungry for the playoffs since the early exit last year.
detroit's goalies are dismal, i dont see them going far.
Chiming in from Chicago: So nice to see the Hawks make the playoffs. They have a promising club but their stars are still too wet behind the ears to go far, though it's encouraging somewhat that their first-round opponent is the Flames instead of the Canucks.
word. flames look pretty good since their acquisition of yolk-o-nen. but i would rather see the hawks win. chicago soul > calgary soul
Haven't seen enough of the Flames to make a call. But the Hawks swept the season series against Calgary and struggled against the Canucks, so maybe it's just a better matchup for them, for whatever reason.

how about kostitsyn brothers hire tonya harding to break Thomas' legs?
what are the odds that the Caps eventually face the Pens? I so want a PEN CAPS?? series. I hope Green stays hot
I believe the only way this will happen is if Carolina beats New Jersey...which I don't think will happen and Boston, Washington, and Pittsburgh winning their series. The next round would be Boston - Carolina, Washington - Pittsburgh which would go along with a prediction I heard of Boston - Washington in the East finals and Washington making it to the finals (which I don't think will happen)
Don Cherry is picking San Jose - Boston in the finals. Kind of expected...he hates Detroit and San Jose has a bunch of 'good Canadian boys'.
...and what you talking about alieNDN with the Red Wings' goalies? Don't you know it takes every Red Wing goalie since Mike Vernon a couple games in the playoffs to start dominating!
I'm hoping for a Detroit - Boston finals. Original six finals going 6 or 7 games would be insane.
I'm hoping for a Chicago - Boston finals. Original six finals going 6 or 7 games would be insane.
Nothing against Detroit, I want Boston to win anyway, but I just think that Boston & Chicago match up really well, both loaded with young talent and flashy goaltending - would make for a fast, awesome series.

i agree but the playoff inexperience vs veteran playoff leadership on other teams is very unbalanced and not in favor of the young blackhawk squad

dude I had conklin in my hockey pool this year. my friend had osgood. conklin played WAY better than osgood and got tons of shutouts. yet the coach goes with the "#1" goalie and osgood shit the bed so many times. i have a pattern i guess because another goalie i had was montreal's Halak who was playing better than price for a while and again, coach goes with the "#1" goalie despite him being worse. but i can't complain because i won that pool! backstrom was my other goalie.
Lucic was incredible tonight. He assisted on the 1st and last goals, and was the only Bruin playing his ass off during that long stretch through most of the second period and early 3rd when the Habs were dominating play. You guys definitely made a game of it, but things are looking good for us. The Garden was so crazy tonight, I have absolutely no voice left.
we played a great game that kovi shot was fire and metropolit was killing it you guys heldup though, a price mistake and a couple of missed opportunities the game could have gone either way
I thought Montreal could have taken their game. It's definitely going to be a series!
Osgood was solid for the Red Wings. We dominated most of the game and it was good to see that they seem ready to play for the playoffs.
Anaheim is one of the reasons why I don't see San Jose going far. Even though I think San Jose will win the series, Anaheim and any subsequent team (Chicago/Calgary/St. Louis) would wear them out just in time to meet Detroit in the conference finals.
Devils will win their series.
Pittsburgh will win their series.
The Capitals SHOULD win their series. Theodore did not have a good game...but then again...how could he stop any shots when defencemen are sliding into him trying to take away passing lanes. As I recall though, he typically really good after a bad game. ...and as much as I hate Avery, he had a great game the other night.
Looking forward to a weekend of hockey and Greek Easter!
Eye gouges and flying elbows "just playoff hockey" according to Colin Campbell, but Lucic's glove & stick up on Lapierre - who had no business going after Lucic in that situation - is "malicious" and deserves a suspension. Look, I think Lucic was out of line with that shot, but Montreal has been playing dirty for 2 games and the league just thinks it is cute. Typical inconsistency from the NHL.
i agree playoffs have been abusively vicious this year btw nice series guys good luck in the playoffs typical of HABS inconsistency this season hats off to you guys i barely still believe

......and because you need to look elsewhere when you live in toronto.

im really interested in how mason plays
Me or Soulonice?
I'd say him, being #1 and all...
GLASS JAW CHARA
potential to have a great series or make costly mistakes
our only chance of winning this series is PP dominance

we brought it for about 8 minutes in game 2 before imploding
now its DO OR DIE

Sad this couldn't be closer. It was all about Game 3.
Good luck Bruins, you guys look f*cking dominant.
Datsyuk time!
