there is a free show at the shelter on friday night, pharoah monch along with a dj that the guys on this board are probably familiar with. one of those free scion shows. I'm going up to the cabin this weekend, I'm pretty disappointed to miss this.
if it's your cup of tea, it'd be a good opportunity to check a classic spot.

C****, if you would have called just 30 minutes earlier, I would have had the squizzad conjure up some mischief for you.
Have fun at the casino... check out Bouzouki's, but don't expect what you may have heard about Detroit strip clubs.
Umm, but yeah... the spot in Detroit you're supposed to play next month is popping... it's goes 'til 4am. There's also something going along the hip hop tip in Hamtramck. Just in case you get bored... call if you need guidance.

I ate at Fishbone's, went to Bouzouki's and got it the fuck in, then went to the Greek and won over a grand on roulette. Hubert I'll holler tomorrow. Detroit, I love this city.
The Shelter may be a hole in the wall, but it's got a hell of a lot of charm and history. I can't even remember how many shows I've been to there, let alone St. Andrews, which you should definitely head upstairs at some point to check out if you haven't been there before, Cos. Nothing spectacular about the venue(s), but I always feel something (PASUE) when I'm at that spot.
Yes, go to People's too. I second that. And the Record Graveyard in Hamtramck. And call Bob Mays - you can visit his house in Hazel Park to shop.
Aren't the better strip clubs on 8 mile? I wasn't terribly impressed with Bouzouki's in Greektown, but I've not been to many strip clubs, so I'm not sure how it compares...
Anyone here ever been to the Palladium on McNichols? Is Houseshoes there? I've never been, but I used to drive by a lot, and late on a weekend night it looked like a ridiculous crazy party.
Have you seen the massive abandoned train station? It's amazing, and a must-see in Detroit. Slow's BBQ on Michigan ave is supposedly really good and trendy (cuties). I'm a vegertarion, so I never been. But it's allegedly good and near the train station for good viewing.
Mexican town is also over there by the train station too. Real good tamale restaurtant on Bagley. On Bagley there's a ton of Mexican restaurants.
Baille Coreiagh in Corktown is good pub grub. Down the street from the aforementioned train station and near the about-to-be-torn-down Tiger Stadium - see it while it's still there.

I love how he's calling the Greektown Casino - "The Greek." I'm surprised we don't already call it that.
Damn Cosmo, I was going to buy the drinks, but now I'm second-guessing that notion.

Define better. What type of girls are we talking? You want those big booty jams? Or the silicone-filled Barbies?
Bouzouki's is not a crown jewel in terms of strip clubs by no means to me. I am not big on them to start, but they have a little bit of everything there... even the 45 year old hag that'll give you a lapdance for half-off.
If you are a hip hop geek, you might want to check out the infamous Chocolate City that Dilla used to big up. 7 Mile and Conant... I believe it's still open.
I learned recently that the dude that owns The Brass Key Lounge put out some Northern Soul 45s that go for major loot.
The other ones that I have been to have either changed owners or I wasn't there long enough to really say much about them, but they are all along 8 Mile.

What I wanna do is get drunk and holler at some bitches.
I am that DJ.
If all else fails, you'll never be far from a casino.
I hope you get a good turnout tomorrow, i only recieved the email about the show today. Usually there's more notice.
But for now I gotta get drunk and holler at some bitches cause that's what's POPPING!
That's the one I had in mind. Yeah, Greektown is worth a trip, even if you're not chippin'. Those few blocks or so are pretty cool.
Get some pizza at Nikki's or peep out a diner down there:
dying right now.

I am the man that just LOL'd.
Dang, Fishbone's sounds nice right about now.
Go to Peoples. Go to the mother fucking thrift stores.
Damn I *WISH* I was in Detroit. Walk the motherfucking streets, Detroit is nuts.
The shelter is lame (is that where the show is at?)

Definately do the funk party, a strange monthly that just keeps getting stranger. Great music too.
Check out Peoples Records, it's close to Downtown. Ness should be up in there, I'm sure he's got the drop on what's good.
Is the Heidelburg Project still going? Get your urban art thing on.
If your in town tomorrow (doubt it) there's a costumed Zombie March in Royal Oak that looks like a promising photo op.
Peace,
MCF
