Really hard, first thought Chubby, but 2nd thought ???? At the end Chubb is my man, but if I leave all the garbage alone he did, and how extremly nerving it was when "Now That We Found Love" was on heavy rotation on MTV, Heavy D got some real nice joints in his backcatalog.
HEAVY D ONLY B/C OF YOU CANT SEE WHAT I CAN SEE....THAT TRAK IS STILL EVEN TODAY....CHUBB CAME WIT IT ON TREAT EM RIGHT...BUT SCREWED HIMSELF WITH THE LINE IN BACK TO THE GRILL "MY LIPS WILL NEVER TOUCH THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF A SPLIFF"--- IN THE CHRONIC G-FUNK ERA
as an overall successful artist i think the Overweight Lover.
But as a straight MC? The Chubbster!!!
both made some wick-wick-WACK songs, though. But Heavy D was just a lot more cheesy overall. I can mess with some of his older stuff like "Mr. Big Stuff" and "Overwieght Lover in the House", but he got too mixed up with Teddy riley and tried to be this cross-over R&B rapper.
"Don't Curse" was dope, but it was because of Pete Rock and all of the guest MCs.

Heavy D.
Underated and miscast due to party rhymes.
Check his verses on Self-Destruction and The Blue Funk album.
If they both had to run through their hits @ the Apollo, Heavy D would smash Chubb Rock.

Winner...Chubb Rock!
His verse on that song alone pretty much kills everything. I give Heavy his props, but as far as an MC goes : Tha Chubbsta
