Maine/New Hampshire Spots

I'm going to be heading through Portsmouth, NH and Portland, Maine next week and was wondering if anyone had any spots worth checking out for records....

    I went to Partsmouth about 7 years ago on a business trip, but didn't get to go around there to check for spots. I remember that there was a nice brewpub in town that had good beer and food, if you're into that sort of thing.

    I did take a ride up to Portland while I was in the area, unfortunately I don't remember the names of any stores. But I do remember that they were all in walking distance from each other. You should be able to find enough places to occupy yourself, just bust out the Yellow Pages or do a net search, and go to town.

    actual convo overheard between owners of Portland shop:

    Dude1(in a bob marley wig!): Dude, what is that you're scratching?

    Dude2: Oh man, it's so weird. It's a stereo test record. It's just a sine wave, they used to check stereos. Isn't it cool?

    Dude1: That's sounds so fucked up when you mess with it.

    Dude2: I know man

    (1/2 an hour later they're still "scratching" the same sound.)

    Dude2: Oh man, let me try (stoner giggle).

    At that point I just had to leave.
