This was on Fazed...someone posted a while ago about Lil Markie, some christian dude singing from the perspective of an aborted fetus...well this isnt that song but its video of him doing a song where he switches to the kids voice... Creepy? yes.

    Yo man, not to fuck with anyone's religon or anything, but seriously what the fuck? What the fuck are these people thinking? And like this dude kind of epitomizes the whole crazy christian in America thing to me. Seriously I don't mean to step on anyone's toes or anything, and I truly am sorry if I do so by writing this. Everyone has their own thing. But can't you look at dude and you can tell that dude has serious problems? What about the people who are DIGGING THIS?

    I agree with you totally. However, I think that it is people like us, who are the only ones "digging" it (ie: giving it the time of day). And we are disgusted it for that matter.
    I really doubt that many christians saw or heard that stuff and thought: "wow, what a great message". Naw, I bet most people back then were even freaked out.
    This Markie t hing is a self financed project right? It's not like this was picked up and got a lot of distribution.
    And I bet that 99% of the copies in existance today are in the hands of people who laugh at it, the other 1% just hasnt been pulled out of the dumpster yet.

    I spent a period of my life surrounded by a community who would, and may have, really been into this. Some of the tactics used to manipulate the youth were dastardly. All night "lock-ins," using sleep-deprivation and candy to put children into hypnotic states. At around 3-4AM, they'd shutdown all the games (pseudo-sumo, laser tag, kickball, conflict oriented) and discuss how life was like a game, that Satan was the coach of one of the teams, and that right now, as in THAT very moment, a decision must be made. Telling kids that their parents may not agree, but that their parents were wrong. They'd then have all the kids who had been "saved" raise their hands (mind you in one large room) and then ask if any kid who had not been "saved" would like to, and if so, to raise their hands. Frightening results. The worst part was that they promoted this in the elementary and high schools. I'm not talking word-of-mouth or fliers.. oh no.. they made it part of the morning announcements. The community supported it. My junior year in high school, with the help of my father and an amazing, fearless lawyer, we put a stop to advertising at the school.

    Needless to say, I don't have many friends from those days.

    I'm sure some of them were wary, but on the whole Christians show a crazy amount of support for anybody with their 'message'. I mean, the Lil' Markie albums were released in the 70s, and in this video he's performing in front of a full church at least ten years later.
