What's happening in NYC?

Hey, I am going to New York next week for 2 weeks (maybe indefinitely) and would love to know what events are happening with rare groove, deep funk, old school hip hop and the like DJs. I want to check out all I can. Plus, I evacuated New Orleans with 60 records, so if there are any opportunities for any guest spots and someone wants to give a NOLA DJ some love, please let me know. Thanks for the resources - I will check out, but honestly I didn't see any nights specific to funk on the Announcements page. I'll take another look. Plus, I'm unfamiliar with NYC DJ scene, so any help from someone who knows is appreciated. Don't really have that kind of money these days for crate digging, but it will be fun to look.
