Adult film stars as creditable actors or actresses? Yes, they "act" the part in throes of passion and desire and make it like they are really enjoying what they are doing and trying to convince the watcher of the same. I mean, take Ron Jeremy and Traci Lords for example... they started off in the adult film industry and then dabbled a little in comedy and action films (i.e. Blade, Detroit Rock City) and that's about it. I don't and probably will NEVER take Ron or Traci seriously in any role they take in any movie. Do we wipe their past clean and let them start anew or do we forever condemn them as "skin flick" actors and actresses?

    Sasha Grey... Yeah, can't say that I saw that one. But once again, are they actors/actresses? I suppose you can act like you are having an orgasm, heavy breathing, eyes-rolling, and moaning and groaning, but when you are screaming the entire time it starts to dwindle... fail.

    I could take a porn actor seriously as long as they don't have some outrageously bad obvious porn actor fake name.

    It would be more interesting the other way around... maybe at some point nobody is going to offer Nicolas Cage any "serious" film work and he'll have to explore new genres to pay for his tax debts? Who would be other likely candidates?

    Ron Jeremy was in The Boondock Saints as a slimeball. He did OK. The film's pro's outweigh the cons.

    I ponder the original question myself from time to time. It's a weird world to cross over from. Sometimes I wonder if I should be pitying them or wondering what the big deal is - I mean, considering sex is a basic motivating factor in life, like eating and breathing, why should it be such a big deal, 'spesh in the 21st century? By the same token, I wouldn't want my kids watching someone making Sasha's eyes water until they know what the deal actually is.

    Lorelei Lee's written a movie which stars James Franco, Heather Graham and Lili Taylor, and which was screened at the Berlin Film Festival, so there's always that route. She has the advantage of being a pretty good writer, though. Ditto Kayden Kross.

    Yea, I consider them real actors as they accomplish what a lot of everyday folks can't. Akin to stuntpeople more than RSC.
