we can go on and on about expensive records we got for cheap...how about the most yall have spent on that 1 (maybe 100) record you had no qualms about dropping loot on.b,121b,121add to the fact that you may have over paid or underpaid at the time.b,121b,121b,121Stark Reality $350 bought from youngenstein a while back...considering i had been after that lp since about 95' i thought that was cheap. I still could sell it for more.b,121b,121Last year I luckily got that twilight lp from kidinquisitive ( thanks to cool chris for connecting the dots)b,121The $300 i spent i have no regrets about....killer lp.

Off the top of my head a few that I've paid $$$500+ for in the last few years:b,121b,121b,121-East of the Undergroundb,121-Marvin Whoremongerb,121-Webster Lewisb,121-D.R. Hookerb,121-Michael Angelob,121-P.E. Hewittb,121b,121b,121b,121On the topic of Stark Reality, I got my copy on ebay for $150 back in 2001 or some shit. Unplayed in shrink. They had it in the "Pop" music bucket, I think I might have been the only bidder.

A few that were expensive ($100+):b,121b,121Franki Zhivago - Disco Funkanoo 12"b,121Curtis - How can I Tell Her 12"b,121Sunstreet - Lovin 12"b,121Electrified AGB - Fly Away 12"b,121Spread Love LPb,121Bobby Thurston - Sweetest Piece of the Pie LPb,121b,121Plenty more, but these come to mind immediately and are some of my favorites.

  • 1984 Love Machine 45 $250 (four years ago)b,121KPM Afro Rock $125 (five years ago)b,121Franticdiagnosis $130 (six years ago)b,121b,121b,121$100 seems to be my limit..those are the only records I have spent over $100 on that I can think of at the moment. I have shit tons of records worth more than $100, but I try and not to spend more than $100 per record...no regrets as to not throwing the loot around...I find that you will usually find it sooner or later for cheap, or find someone willing to trade it to you...I would rather sell records for loot than buy 'em for loot....

  • A little over $300 for the Erni Clark 45 (had to have it after hearing By The Grace Of God on the Rehash site). I actually ended up liking the flipside even more. But my general maxim is buy low sell high.

I can't remember ever hitting $100 so I must still be in double figures. Around the $50 mark is usually my thing.

  • All time high: Shark Wilson & the Basement Heaters - Make It Reggae $175b,121b,121Next - Barbara Banks - River of Tears around $150b,121b,121After that a couple around $100

also should have mentioned it had a slight warp. some surface scratches and the jacket was far from Mint

  • $175 for Gandalf. No regrets. Mostly shop in the $15-50 range.

$250 is the most I've gone thus far and that was for the Bits N' PIeces LP (Manila rock/soul). b,121b,121I've gotten close to there with the West Coast Revival LP too. b,121b,121I don't think I can rationalize more than $300 for a single record at my current income. As that increases, so might my willingness to drop higher stacks.b,121b,121I might be willing to spend $1000 on something like East of Underground...but only if I go on a record moratorium the next three months!
