    Very interesting, thanks for the knowledge. I always suspected that the Moon People were the house band for Speed, but didn't confirm it until now. Is it safe to assume its the same band on the other records, minus Orq. Olivieri and Frankie Nieves? I mean are the Moon People also the Latin Uniques, the Latin Whatchamacallits, and the band backing Milton Zapata?

    That's a good question and that I don't know. At some point, I'd like to follow up with Marin proper - we only spoke for about an hour, much of it about Joe Bataan's career, so I didn't get too far into his own work.

    Reynaldo might be able to shed some light on this.

    Next time you're in NY you have to go to Casa Amadeo in the Bronx. They won't let you go through the 45s in the back, but Mr. Amadeo was there for it all and he's good friends with Bobby Marin, Joe Quijano, Eddie Palmieri, and all those guys, stories for decades.
