Got an Ebay message from a (alleged) member of a 70s psych band and he is telling me to take down the re-ish of his LP I have up for an auction...he claims it is a bootleg and it needs to be taken down. Should I just ignore his message? I mean ebay would cancel the item if there was legit legal recourse, right? I just dont wanna get the account suspended.

he claims it is a bootleg and it needs to be taken down..

Tell him you just need him to send you an OG copy so you can be sure it really is a bootleg. Then you'll take it down.

And replace it with the OG.

  • I think he can get ebay to take it down. I've seen that happen before.

So, by this action, the Hoodratz would require the breaking of his own leg.

  • Even if he complains and ebay removes the listing it won't affect your account standing.

If I'm not mistaken all anyone has to do to get an auction pulled is invent some half way decent story of wrong-doing and email eBay with it. It's not like they check it out. eBay will pull it and send you some stock email saying that you are in violation of whatever and that they are taking down the auction and refunding you your listing fees, and that if you re-list it you can get suspended.
