Has anyone ever mentioned their DJ/Record Collecting background on their Resume?I'm updating mine and Im a little hesitant to mention it. It just sounds kind of corny or that your kind of full of yourself.Thought?Experiences? You think it helps?

"Soooo, you're a DJ, huh?
Says here you like Hip-Hop.
Have you heard the new Jin/Rosie dis track? Shit is hot.
Anyway, have you heard about our Dental Plan?"

or an Audio Excavation Specialist
I work in music as well, mainly concerts. Djing is on my resume, although it mentions the radio side of it.
Where are you applying?
I'm getting ready to attend an Industry Confrence (all about ticketing called INTIX) in Houston tomorrow. This is the first year where they will be having a job fair, so I wanted to take advanted while I was there.
BTW - Anyone got any love in Houston? I need a Chingo Bling bobble head.
See, but being an Audiophile is a self-directed pursuit, the noble archivist catalogues for the sake of cultural preservation and the greater musical edification of society.
Shit homey, you're hired.
Vinyl Recording Archivist has now replaced Audiophile
Is this even nesessary?

Word. If anyone pushes the topic just casually make something up about the Library of Congress and Greek Rembetika 78's. They'll drop the topic and think you're a genius.
This, by the way, is a strategy that can be generalized to most situations in life.
- Specialized Director of Local Music Promotions -- Look how CAPS magically make an empty string of words seem legitimate and professional!
- Long-established multi-genre Disc Jockey -- If the person reading this is over 40-years-old they might think you were on the radio. Who are you to tell them otherwise?

i put it down on oustide interests, just as a way to fish... in the sense that if someone is impressed by that kinda thing, it's a good way to seperate yourself from other people, and if they're not, you can just kinda dismiss it as an eccentric hobby... and at this point, i have been collecting records for over half my life, so why not include it...
for the record, this has gotten me one job and cost me one... the time it cost me, the girl interviewing me kept asking all these questions about djing and music and production i started talking about it in detail and then i didn't get the job b/c she thought i was too into music and wouldn't focus on the job (a fucking part time editorial asistant research thing and i have a degree in history. wow, i am still a little angry thinking about it) (ps i found out this b/c randomly a friend of mine went on a date w/ this girl)
lastly, i got a job b/c the guy interviewing me was a dj and we just talked about West End records...
You forgot all these -
I can't find any pictures of Champagne's Cafe online.
Are there tamales in the trunk?
