Anybody know any clues of what to look for when purchasing these? Do they even make the DVD's from the original films or are they like vcr recording with the tv station call letters popping up once in a while and a little piece of a commecial... any notable companys that are legit as far as visual quality? Please help.

There's a lable called "Celestial" which bought the whole SB back catalog, remastered them and re-released as legit DVDs.

Personally I get good stuff from this dude on ebay, solid quality:

also HK Flix usually has good stuff with lots of reviews:

research is always best with these films as there are some very low quality almost unwatchable kung fu DVDs out there.

One of the greatest nights was seeing an OG print in cinemascope and on a big screen of Master Killer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quentin Tarantino was there on his first date with that gurl... Hmm forget her name. I've seen the flick a million times, but something about seeing it on the big screen in a porno theater kicks sooo much ass.

I really wanna grab a copy of Kakushi-ken: oni no tsume (The Hidden Blade).

Anyone seen it yet? Directed by Yoji Yamada.

    Chan? You know of it???
