Brazilian Soundtrack Recommendations?

I've been into soundtracks for a long time, and in particular italian soundtracks. For the last year I've listened more and more to brazilian music, and I know there's a bunch of cool brazilian osts. Some have been reviewed at the great blaxploitation.com, but I would really like to know some more. So can anyone recommend some brazilian ost heat?Nuts

Not really funky, but great for late 60s fuzzy mod pop/psych/garage sound. Not too hard to find either - Fatback took me to some dude's backyard shed in DC a couple of years ago and there it was in an old footlocker for two bucks.

Brazilian OSTs tend to be heavier on the cheese than on ILL DRAMA STABS. A lot of it is too "easy" for my taste. But if you're into French and Italian soundtracks you'll find a lot to like.

These are all funky to some degree:

    O Cafona
Assim Na Terra Como No Ceu
    Irmaoes Coragem
    O Primeiro Amor
    Marcelo Zona Sul
    Selva de Pedra
    Verao Vermelho
    Pecado Capital
    Esquadrao de Morte

I would holler at the Brazilian heavyweights on this board. I know Jonny Paycheck knows the business. Sabadabada knows his stuff as well (although he might be on his honeymoon.)

And Aser... who's probably put me on to more Brazilian stuff than anyone else.

This is a soundtract to a Brazilian TV show that's pretty good. From that article that was in Wax Poetics a little while ago, a lot of bands got into doing TV soundtracks in the 70s such as this one.

    What JoeMojo said.

If you can find them, the soundtracks to the novelas (soap operas), made between 70 and 75 by Som Livre label, always have 2 or 3 good tracks.

    Peace

a lot of the sdtrks are from soap operas and such, so you get a heavy dose of cheese involved.

    I do enjoy this one....

uma rosa com amor (som livre 1972)

i have a good one posted on my site now www.sabadabada.com and if you check the record covers section under som livre label most of those are telenovela soundtracts. My alltime favorite is this movie.
