Sorry, no fancy flyer artwork, folks. Just the vital stats:The P Brothers - DJ Ivory & Paul S. (w/ Chairman Mao also at the controls)@ APT, 419 W. 13th St. (b/t 9th & Washington)Saturday, July 29th, 200610pm - 4am$6 @ the Doorwww.aptwebsite.comwww.heavybronx.comThe P Brothers - Nottingham, UK???s super superb underground hip-hop production team and DJ sound system ??? make their annual pilgrimage to NYC to pray at the alter of their Boogie Down Bronx fore-fathers, and raise some hell on the wheels of steel. Several of you are undoubtedly well familiar with DJ Ivory via his acclaimed series of Hear No Evil mixes, which set off a vintage rap record trainspotting scene so fanatical it was detailed in the New York Times last year. Less heralded but equally essential, though, is Ivory and Paul???s Zulu Beat mix ??? an homage to NYC???s early 80s underground hip hop radio so faithful to the original article it even included archival radio spots for old Zulu Nation jams at the Roxy. True to the spirit of the Zulu Beat, the duo???s APT guest set from last summer was a frenzied aural adventure in the land of cover-up breaks n??? beats, rap classics, and disco juice that left an indelible impression on all in attendance (ask your boy Dr. Delay). With the P???s coming off of several underground productions over the past year - for the likes of Boss Money, Sadat X, Smiley the Ghetto Child, and others - this year???s throwdown promises to be nothing lesser. Beliedat!PM yours truly for comps. Hope some of youse can make it. Peas,Chairman Jefferson Mao
