not that removed from what's on heavy rotation on Flow here in Toronto - Texas doesn't seem so far away from Ontario anymore.

I haven't really been paying attention to whats getting played, but word from deejays actively working the clubs not too long ago was that the 40 track was still getting serious HATE around here (whats up sonofsam)... don't know if the media saturation has reversed the trend yet or not

And I haven't even heard the Keke track yet

The rest of that list is almost certainly the same though

For whatever reasons the deejays on Hot 93.3 have been trying as hard as hell NOT to play Tell Me When to Go. They rejected it as wack in a programming meeting when they first got it a couple of months back. It's currently #10 on the station's self-styled playlist but I still hardly ever hear it getting spins.

sonofsam tells me he still tries to push the song every single time he plays out, and dudes are YELLING and CURSING at him cuz it makes them so angry... they don't even believe that its a Jon beat.

Why are certain people so threatened by this song?

Seriously, I can't put my finger on it.

she's a winer-ass winer. I've only kind of gotten into that "only when it's over" track besides that everything she's done is really just too polished, boring, and repetitive (aka the majority of contemporary R&B that's on the radio).

I'll agree that Keyshia is the new Mary when she gets a 15 + year carreer of dope songs and actual hits.

    hi al*x!

tell me when to go is NOT the move in NC, although it has eased up lately... i've had a couple of dudes get real psyched about it... i still play it every night... it's gotten to be kind of a joke to me because i love it and everybody else hates it... when they bitch i just tell them, "you'll like it in a few months", but now it looks like this might not ever get on the radio here... other than the two bay songs, that's pretty much the exact top 10 on the radio here

i went to the rub a couple of weeks ago, and tell me when to go set it off in there... i was jealous

but don't you find that Cole lacks that rawness/power/anger that set(s) Mary apart. I like Cole enough, but cannot even begin to see her/listen to her like I do MJB.

ps. apple cinnamon has always been my favourite poptart flavour

you mean, are they disconnected from the south? Yeah stuff migrates up here really slowly. But that's daytime airplay, I don't really see a whole lot of difference from the charts posted above...

Now, if you listen to mixshow up here it gets more serious - but I'm sure that's true of most markets.

Regular rotation on Hot 97 is garbage--I only listen to the post-midnight mixshows, which are all pretty good. "Mixshow" is probably a misnomer, though--it's all mixtape dudes like Kay Slay, Clue and Green Lantern, so no real mixing, but lots of exclusives.
