Science Of Sound (SOS) promo tape 1995 (ATCQR)

Once again rummaging through boxes of tapes I came across this:



Science Of Sound (SOS) promo tape from 1995. The shiny metallic blueness of this cassette made it virtually impossible to photograph or scan clearly, but side A says "Production by A Tribe Called Quest", B side says "Featuring Phife from A Tribe Called Quest". Does anybody else have this or know the story behind it? Was it ever released commercially on vinyl or anything? Is it a ? I think Beetle or somebody hit me with this at my record show table back in '95. From what I remember it sounded pretty darn good.

    i remember seeing a bit of info on someones blog a while back.
    they ripped it from a promo and i think the downloads still might work.(they are rapidshare though)

    Heyyyy... thanks for the link! That's the 1st I've seen of this on vinyl. Some really lost hip hop here, mang.

    I think that tape is the promo cassette of the 4-track 12" that was released in 1995.
    I've got it somewhere at home - the track with Phife on is pretty dope.
