I live in a similar fantasy as Funky16Corners where the Explosions are the #1 group and Garden of Four Trees and Hip Drop are gigantic fucking hits. Vocals are a bit gritty for most to be a hit though.
I'll add Rokk - Patience as a track that should have been enourmous. Could have been too if they pressed more and did a whole album as planned.
Latyrx-Lady don't tek no I like the song but the beat/sample the signing and the club factor had all the makings of a huge hit (tv commercial music even). A video with poplockers could have put it over the top

The A-side "Black Is Beautiful" originally appeared on a Douglass High School LP from Oklahoma City (where the girls were from), and before the girls could get to Kansas City to record a proper studio version with Louis Chachere, Ms. Bratton passed.

45 only. On Mercury. WLPromo and a FEW regular issues exist. There was a "pressing flaw" on the OG that reportedly led to a culling of the regular-issue stock. Goddamn shame.
I believe this came up in a thread before. The red label issues on Mercury are actually styrene - possibly only the promos were vinyl? There was a guy on eBay selling one, listed as a vinyl press and the price got pretty high. On a side note, this comp: has Hercules on it, and it's about 25 seconds longer than the 45 cut.
