LPs from START to FINISH?

Either I'm getting old and lazy or just pickier about what I listen to these days.  Nevertheless, can you guys think of some albums to recommend that are solid all the way through?

Here are some in my current "listening" crate, but I'd love to add to it with albums that are SOLID:
Duke Pearson "The Phantom"
Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots"
The Advancement
Eddie Fisher & The Next One Hundred Years
Arkestra One
Express Rising
Day "Land of 1000 Chances"
Bronx River Parkway
McDonald & Giles
Lee Moses "Time & Place"

    can - future days
    Curtis Mayfield - Sweet Exorcist
    moodymann - black mahogany
Marcos Valle - Previsão do Tempo

that jorge ben is real sweet, but the jesus track in the middle ruins it for me, not because it is about jesus, i think.

  • Thanks...no up on moodymann so I'll check it!

I also wanted to nominate Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do but remembered I always skip past the really abrasive track (Ventolin?).

More of a comp, but Kruder & Dorfmeister K&D Sessions is some solid shit.

If Only We Knew is one of the greatest sides of all time to me.  It's been ages though, so thanks for reminding me.

  • Less of a classic per se, but I kinda think Uptown Saturday Night by Camp Lo has been one of my more-listened start to finishers. The stylistic unity of the vibe across the whole thing, and the ridiculous slanguage, make it all work together in a way unlike most rap albums. I have joked that as an experience I would only play that album for my kid so that he grows up speaking like Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede and is thus incomprehensible to any other English speaker.

There are lots to think about... some that come to mind

Espers S/T and Weed Tree (both recently reissued)
Super Jamano De Dakar - Geedy Dayaan
Ruy Maurity - Nem Ouro Nem Prata
And, uh, De La's first three albums (what do you skip?)

Some days I imagine a world where the one or two disappointing tracks on INXS - Kick have been removed and has instead "What you need" and I imagine that album would be pretty cool in 1987.
