    I dunno. Seems like it's just one of those things.

    Also seems as though I've been using the term heatrock for way longer than the thread, so I don't think anyone on this board can actually lay claim to it's creation.

    What's the origin of "fishgill"/"fishscale"?

    When I first saw the title "let a heat rock go", I thought it was going to be about taking a dump after eating some spicy food.

    As it turns out, it was about something much better.
