To start it off: Hugh Masekela. His Hedzoleh Soundz LP is one of my favorites. He signed my copy of his debut after one of his shows here.

I am hearing rumours of the passing of the noted drummer Leon "Ndugu" Chancler.

Any idea how he died? (don't say "Stopped living.")

Was just reading a homies memories with Mack. I was just thinking about how great the stories were, to hear the news at the end. 46 is too young. RIP

Saddened by this one.  Looks like dude had done got religion and quit the game but he was up there with Biggie in terms of creative and humorous flow.  Will down a cold one for homie.

    Any excuse.

Yeah 46 is way too young. RIP. I won't lie, I haven't thought about Mack in a long time, but this has sent me on a proper nostalgia trip.

  • For some reason I thought Hawking was ageless and would live forever. Given his illness 76 full intellectually active years is pretty damn good though.

Craig Mack, though, that hits harder in a way cause he's so damn young. I guess I'll give Flava In Ya Ear a few spins today.

Oh wow.  His impact on hip hop is a lot more massive than people think.  RIP.
