Apparently this show was what inspired Mixmaster Mike (as well as a lot of other people I'm sure!) to begin DJing.

The herbie is funny though. He does more dancing/clapping than playing. There's another video of him doing some late 70's R&B stylee VOCODER MADNESS. Herbie was so trying to be stevie wonder.

  • Thanks, I was recently talking to Grandmaster D.S.T about this clip. About how I was looking for it.

    HERE'S AN INTERSETING FACT!!!!!!!!

WHO KNEW THE VOICE THAT GOES "AHHHH THIS STUFF IS REALLY FRESH" IS DST'S VOICE?

I saw Herbie Hancock on the Rockit tour at the Pier in New York. Steel Pulse opened. I took my mom's Nikon (and a zoom lens) to the show and took some great (lucky) photos. Amazing show. First time I ever saw anyone scratch in person. Gotta dig up the negatives and post em.

Damn! That's nice, but it's torture to watch 50 sec snippets of that goodness. Gene Perla and Don Alias are . According the website it's possible to buy the live recordings on cd and that the video footage will be released soon as well. Must acquire this when it drops???
