    Harvey,

Good call on the Cult album, they never get the props they deserve.

What is the album with the black woman and white baby?

I would add some Social Distortion, Radiohead, Tool, and Chili Peppers on this list.

  • Harvey, Rolling Stone called, they want their list back.

    Populism is under-rated.

But still, I may be the only dude anywhere with each of TSOL - Change Today, Screaming Trees - Uncle Anesthesia, and Afghan Whigs - Congregation on their list.

25 off the top of the head, but these could change in 5 minutes:

Bad Brains - Rock For Light
Black Flag - The First Four Years
    Slayer - Reign In Blood
Hendrix - Axis Bold As Love
    Cream - Disraeli Gears
New Bomb Turks - Destroy Oh Boy

Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime
Iggy & The Stooges - Raw Power
Dag Nasty - Can I Say
    The B-52's - ST

    Van Halen - ST
Cocteau Twins - The Pink Opaque
Gang Of Four - Solid Gold
Discharge - Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing

    The Cure - Seventeen Seconds
    DRI - Dealing With It
Shudder To Think - Pony Express Record
The Police - Regatta De Blanc
Led Zeppelin - Houses of The Holy

You know, it's basically impossible to stick to just 25. I just came up with that in 5 minutes and looking at it I can think of 25 more records that are just as great as any of these...

  • i don't think Tool has aged well.

anyway obscurity is cool and all, but if you don't have Paranoid and Back in Black on your list you need to have your head examined.

I only vaguely like AC/DC and don't like Sabbath at all. Later for "classics" vs. "obscurities" - if it gets repeat plays on your stereo, then that's good enough.

I'll avoid repetition and just say my 25 is the cut and paste of most of these lists, with one addition:
