[fanboy revealed]Consistent, inspiring mixtapes. Almost to the point of anger inducing for me--
it used to be: why can't I think of that?
Now it's: why will i never ever ever find any of those records or think to flip the record like that?

Taster's Choice Volume 5 is in heavy rotation both in the office and at home. I bought it in SF, and undertheradar can verify- the juggling/doubling, precise cuts, layering, etc. damn near caused me to crash the rental car on more than one occasion. He obviously puts a lot of thought and time into his work.

    i don't think i've ever disliked a tape that he's put out. [/fanboy revealed]

Was there a lack of appreciation for this guy?

I think everyone on this board will ride for J.

  • Its actually been cool seeing him play less technical sets lately in LA. He played afrofunke and I think he only did one short lil beat juggle all night. He rocked soul sessions real hard about a month back too.
