    Nothing to do with nothing, but I love the way Fania was big on putting women in the foreground[/b] on these album jackets, all out-of-focus and whatnot, as if to suggest they were unobtainable or something (check the three album covers printed so far for proof). Any other label would have had Monguito Santamaria, Joe Bataan or Louie (Ali Baba) Ramirez sitting WITH those women, rather than ogling them from a distance...we oughta do a fave Fania album covers thread.

    BUT BACK TO THE TOPIC...my fave Fania album? Ralfi Pagan's self-titled debut ("Where Is The Girl For Me?" has to be one of the Top 10 heartbreak ballads done by anyone at anytime).

  • i don't have too many fania faves (off the top of my head, maybe Crime Pays) but i must admit i'm addicted to the inner sleeve cover scans.

    how many ray barreto lp's are on Fania?

    I am working thru a stack of Fania lps I got from my stepmom but right now I'm diggin Ray Barretto - Rican/struction



    This would also as one of my favorite album covers.
