I was wondering if any of our Francophilie Strutters could recommend the better Janin titles in terms of slices of funky grooves?I just picked up Escale Party which has a few productions by him, including Nancy Holloway's "Hurts So Bad" (so necessary...tasty). I also have another LP by him with "Fat Fellow" on it which is nice. I've heard "Post Combustion" before but I found it a bit too big band for me.Thanks,Oliver

You should check out 'A L'orgue Hammond' by Eddy Driver (alias Daniel Janin). I believe it was sampled by Beatnuts too. Its one of his best works.

Yeah - got that LP too. Forgot that it was a Janin pseudonym.

If you can find it grab:

Dinah Mathis Power w/ Nancy Holoway. IMO his best outing. All the way through goodness.

The entire LP is fucking dope. I believe its a French Library LP.

Nancy Holoway's "Sand & Rain" is a standout.

    Title: DINHA MANTHA'S POWER
