help me ID this rapper

on the "american me" dvd there is a good bonus documentry about gang violence called "life in hazard." (this was also directed by olmos and is a good realistic look at people engaged in the gang life.)there is a scene where a dude in a poncho is in a allyway rapping, and a bunch of his homeboys are listening and drinkin 40's.there's a boombox playing a instrumental vers of "be thankfull for what you got", and the dude is rapping and singing his hook over it. i think the song is called "i remember you homie" cause that was the hook. anybody know who this guy is? did he evr put out wax,etc?
